Helen B. Hamilton DVM, MS
        Diplomate ACVIM          

Dr. Hamilton, founder and owner of Veterinary Internal Medicine Service, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Georgia in 1982. She completed her internship at University of Minnesota then went on to earn her Masters degree and complete her residency in internal medicine at Colorado State University in 1986. Also in 1986, she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.  Dr. Hamilton was the head of the internship program at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital for many years before forming VIMS in 1998. She has a special interest in reproduction, endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. Dr. Hamilton is the current president of the Greyhound Club of Northern California and the health chair for the Greyhound Club of America. She is currently involved in researching health issues specific to the Greyhound.  She enjoys biking, reading, gardening and hiking with her own Greyhounds in the local parks and regional wilderness areas.

Recently, Dr. Hamilton has been honored with the Western University of Health Sciences 4 year Preceptor  Award. As a Clinical Professor of Veterinary Internal medicine at Western University, Dr. Hamilton teaches and mentors 4th year veterinary students. The summer of 2009 began Dr. Hamilton's 3rd year guiding students and passing on the skills of the profession she loves to the next generation of veterinarians.
