Dr. Hamilton, founder and owner of Veterinary Internal Medicine Service, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Georgia in 1982. She completed her internship at University of Minnesota then went on to earn her Masters degree and complete her residency in internal medicine at Colorado State University in 1986. Also in 1986, she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Hamilton was the head of the internship program for internal medicine at Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital for many years before forming VIMS in 1998. She has a special interest in reproduction, endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. Dr. Hamilton is a member of the board for the Greyhound Club of North America and the health chair for the Greyhound Club of America. She is currently involved in researching health issues specific to the Greyhound. She enjoys biking, reading, gardening and hiking with her own Greyhounds in the local mountains. |
